Motion review 2026: powerful auto-scheduling with expensive tradeoffs

Motion takes a stronger position than a normal planner: give it tasks, durations, deadlines and priorities, and it will decide where the work belongs. That can remove a daily round of calendar Tetris. It can also make the schedule feel as if it belongs to the software.

Our take

Is it worth using?

Motion is best for professionals and small teams with structured work, changing calendars and enough task volume to justify automatic replanning. Its scheduling engine is powerful, but the current Pro AI plan begins at $19 per seat per month on the annual view and recent App Store reviews raise serious billing and support concerns. Test cancellation as carefully as scheduling.

What users report

What starts to matter after a week

We read recent reviews for Motion to look for praise and friction that product pages leave out. They are anecdotes, not a vote, so they challenge our testing rather than decide the verdict.

What reviewers mention

A self-employed reviewer with ADHD says Motion is clearly capable but did not fit an unstructured working day. Several recent low ratings focus on cancellation, billing and support rather than the scheduling engine itself.

01

Automatic scheduling is useful only after the inputs are honest

Motion needs durations, priorities, availability and deadlines before it can build a believable day. When those inputs are sound, a new meeting can arrive and the remaining work can move around it automatically.

Bad estimates produce a confident but impossible calendar. The algorithm cannot know that a client call will leave you unable to begin deep work immediately afterwards.

02

The product has grown beyond a personal task planner

The current pricing page groups tasks, projects, calendar, meetings, documents, chat and AI features into plans for professionals and businesses. Motion is competing with work-management suites as much as with to-do lists.

That breadth may help a small team reduce separate tools. It is unnecessary machinery for somebody who only wants a personal day automatically arranged.

03

The mobile app is not the center of the experience

Motion’s App Store description says the service is best used on a computer and calls mobile a companion. That is a meaningful limitation for people who capture, plan and reschedule mainly from a phone.

The desktop focus makes sense for project work, but a cross-platform logo grid should not be mistaken for equal capability on every screen.

04

Reader complaints make billing part of the review

Recent US reviews describe failed support contact, renewal frustration and an attempted annual charge after canceling a trial. Another self-employed reviewer with ADHD says the software is clearly capable but did not fit an unstructured working day.

Individual reviews do not prove a universal policy failure. They do make cancellation, renewal terms and support responsiveness essential parts of a responsible trial.

05

Flaws, but not dealbreakers

Motion is expensive, asks users to trust automatic choices and can feel controlling when the schedule moves repeatedly. Its broad AI suite also makes it harder to separate the value of scheduling from the value of everything bundled around it.

For structured professional work, automatic replanning can still save real time. Begin with one live week, use a virtual or low-limit payment method if appropriate, record the renewal date and test whether correcting the schedule is faster than making it yourself.

Good to know

A few common questions

How much does Motion cost?

The official pricing page displayed Pro AI at $19 per seat per month on the annual view when checked. Monthly billing and higher plans may cost more.

Is Motion good for ADHD?

Automatic scheduling may help some people, while others find the moving plan rigid or overwhelming. It is not a medical treatment.

Is Motion worth it for one person?

Only when automatic replanning saves enough professional time to justify the price. A light personal list does not need the broader suite.
