Its automatic scheduling is useful for reshaping a busy day, but it still needs manual correction. TickTick is broader across platforms; Structured is simpler; Sunsama offers a more deliberate planning ritual.

The timeline tells the truth that a task list avoids
Calendar events and tasks share one chronological view. A meeting already owns its hour; a task needs an estimated duration before it can claim the remaining space. This makes an overfilled day difficult to ignore.
The value is not mathematical precision. It is seeing that four medium-sized tasks do not fit into the two gaps you have left.
Hyper-Schedule is useful when the first plan breaks
Sorted can arrange unscheduled work around fixed events and compress or move the plan when the day changes. That saves some calendar Tetris, particularly when several tasks can happen in any order.
Automatic scheduling does not know that a “quick” call may consume your attention for an hour. The best result is a draft you can inspect, not an instruction you are obliged to obey.
Tasks, events and notes can live on the same line
The product allows notes and attachments around both tasks and events, which reduces the need to open another app for the practical context of the day.
It is still a daily planner rather than a deep project database. People with large collaborative projects, complex dependencies or mixed devices should not choose it for the timeline alone.
The one-time price is appealing, but check the update history
The official listing describes a free core and one-time Pro unlocks, with iOS and macOS sold separately or as a bundle. That is refreshing in a subscription-heavy category.
The current US listing shows version 3.15 from October 2024. The app remains available and highly rated, but a slower visible update cadence deserves attention when buying software tied closely to operating-system changes.
Flaws, but not dealbreakers
Automatic schedules become noisy when task durations are guesses, and the Apple-only scope rules out many shared or work setups. The recent US review feed is also too thin for us to claim a strong current anecdotal pattern.
Sorted³ remains distinctive. If you want a one-time Apple planner that treats time as a real constraint, its core idea is still worth testing during the free period.
